About

A little bit about me...

Hi! I'm Hannah Zlotnick (she/her). My 15 year career in the nonprofit sector has involved nearly equal parts nonprofit compliance and fundraising. My passion for mission-driven work was seeded during my service as an AmeriCorps VISTA* where I was immersed in a world of grant writing, event planning and volunteer management in a small community-based organization. From there, I honed my fundraising skills - focused on foundation and corporate giving - at Asian Americans Advancing Justice - AAJC, before taking on the role of the first dedicated compliance officer for the Open Society Foundations. There, I developed my expertise in areas such as U.S. tax exempt law, the Lobbying Disclosure Act, and state/local lobbying regulations. I pride myself on my ability to distill complex compliance requirements into processes and procedures that are easy for staff to understand and manage, allowing them to focus their full attention on the crucial program work that advances their missions.

I live in Washington, DC with my husband and our energetic young son. When I'm not pushing a swing, racing toy cars or avoiding stepping on Legos, I enjoy baking sweet treats and working out.
